What we collect, and what we don’t.
This describes what The Livestream Experts — PTR and Associates LLC, based in Brooklyn, NY — collects through this website, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. It was written by going through the site’s actual analytics events and form fields rather than from a template, so everything below is something the site genuinely does.
The short version
- We run one analytics tool, to see which pages get read and whether the site is broken.
- We do not sell your data, run advertising trackers, or record your screen.
- There are no third-party trackers on this site. Analytics is served from our own domain.
- If you apply to join the crew or submit an invoice, we collect what we need to hire and pay you — including tax and bank details.
- Email us and we will delete what we hold, unless the law requires us to keep it.
When you just visit
We use PostHog to understand how the site is used. On each page it records the page you viewed, links and buttons you click, your approximate location worked out from your IP address (country, region and city — never a precise position), your browser, operating system, device type and screen size, the site you arrived from, how quickly the page loaded, and any JavaScript error the page throws.
To do that it stores a small identifier in your browser — a first-party cookie and an entry in local storage — so that several page views can be recognised as one visit. Analytics requests go to a subdomain of this site rather than to a third-party domain.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, none of that happens until you say so. We work out which country you are connecting from before the page is sent, and if consent is required we ask first. Until you answer, no analytics runs, nothing is sent, and no analytics cookie is written. Decline and none of it ever starts — the site behaves identically either way, and we do not ask again.
One cookie is set before you answer, named tlx_region. It contains the word eu or row, and nothing else. It exists only so the site knows whether it owes you that question. It is not an identifier, cannot be linked to you, and is never sent to anyone. To change your mind later, clear this site’s data in your browser and you will be asked again.
What we do not do: we do not record your screen or your session, we do not run advertising or social media pixels, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone for their own purposes. The only external service this site links out to is our scheduling tool, and only when you choose to book a call.
When you book a call
Booking happens on Fantastical, run by Flexibits, on their own site. Whatever you enter there — typically your name, email address, phone number and a note about your event — is held by them under their privacy policy. When a booking is confirmed they send us your name, email address and phone number, and we record that the booking happened so we know the site is working.
When you email us
Nothing clever: the message and your address sit in our mailbox. We use them to reply to you.
If you work with us as crew
This is the part of the site that collects the most, and it only applies if you fill in one of the crew forms. It goes into our Airtable base and is used for hiring, for paying you, and for filing correct tax paperwork.
- Applying: your name, email, phone number, the roles you work in, how you heard about us, your résumé, and the names, emails and companies of two references.
- Onboarding: an emergency contact and their relationship to you, your tax classification and business name, your mailing address, your tax ID and a W-9 or equivalent, and whether you carry workers' compensation insurance.
- Onboarding, if you ask to be paid by direct deposit: your bank routing number, account number, account type, and the address your bank holds for the account.
- Invoicing: the name on the invoice, the project, the amount, an invoice number, and any invoice or receipt files you attach.
Your bank and tax details are used to pay you and for nothing else. They are never used for analytics, never sent to any tool other than the ones listed below, and never shared with clients.
Stream Check
Stream Check is our macOS venue-survey app. When it runs a test it uploads measurement data to temporary storage so the results can be assembled, and that data is deleted once the run is finished. If you connect a Restream account, the connection is handled by Restream and we never see your password.
Who else touches your data
These are every service that receives data from this site. All of them are based in the United States, which means data about visitors outside the US is transferred there.

How long we keep it
Crew records — applications, onboarding details, tax and bank information, invoices and uploaded files — are kept for seven years, which is the period we work to for financial and tax records. Analytics data is held for one year and then deleted by PostHog under our plan. Emails are kept as long as the mailbox holds them.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the following rights over your personal data. We will honour them for anyone who asks, wherever you are.
- Access — ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected.
- Erasure — have it deleted, where we are not legally required to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to stop using it while a question about it is resolved.
- Portability — receive it in a machine-readable form, or have it sent elsewhere.
- Objection — object to our use of it, including analytics.
- Complaint — raise it with your national data protection authority.
Email privacy@thelivestreamexperts.com and we will respond within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason to ask for deletion.
Our grounds for holding this data: analytics on your consent if you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland — which is why you are asked before anything runs — and on our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works everywhere else; crew records on the contract between us, and on our legal obligations for tax records; booking and email details on your request that we get in touch.
Children
This is a business site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. It currently reads 31 July 2026.
